Tai Chi Classes: Beginners Tai Chi classes every Monday and Wednesday at 1p.m. in the FOCUS auditorium. Merry Makers and RSVP Singers are two musical groups that go throughout the community and provide enjoyable music to seniors who live in assisted living and long-term care facilities. Both groups are open to new members. If you enjoy music, if you sing or play a musical instrument, drop by for a rehearsal. There are no try-outs and no turn-aways! You have the power to brighten another’s day. AARP Local Chapter MeetingThird Tuesday of each month at 10 AM The local chapter meeting of AARP is open to all persons 50 or above. AARP offers the senior community an opportunity to have their voices heard on issues related directly to senior issues. First Tuesday of each Month at 10 AM More and more young people are being raised by grandparents. Grandparents United is a free membership organization that looks at problems grandparents encounter in raising children. It also gives grandparents insight into managing their households and in trading stress for relaxation. Grandparents will meet the first Tuesday of each month from 10 AM until 11:30 AM at the FOCUS Senior Center, in an atmosphere from which they can gain emotional support from those in the same or similar situation. Managing behavior of children and gaining insight into normal childhood development will help grandparents grow spiritually, emotionally and socially. Monthly programs will improve skills in communication, negotiation, coping, management and parenting. For more information, call 758-3393.
